Typical School Day

Pupils arrive at school between 8.30am and 8.45am when school starts. The register is taken and children start the day with Tefillah. Foundation Stage children say Tefillah with their own class. Years One and Two generally say Tefillah together. Children in Key Stage 1 and 2 (Years One to Six) daven Shacharit together on Mondays (when Havdallah is also made), Wednesdays and Fridays, and in their year groups on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All children are given a chance to lead Tefillah, and older children are encouraged to support the younger children to learn to daven.

Children have a chance to play outdoors at break times. All children, including Reception, have the chance to play in the large front playground at different times. The Nursery children play in their own separate area of the playground which they share with Reception. Foundation Stage and KS1 have three break times in the day, and KS2 has two.

The children may have a hot meaty meal or bring in a kosher milky packed lunch. Our hot school lunches are cooked at Georgia's Deli which is under the London Bet Din (KLBD). All KS1 children are provided with a fruit snack. The children may bring in a fresh fruit or vegetable snack for morning break. We encourage only healthy foods to be brought into school.

Assemblies are held weekly on a Monday and parents are invited to see their children perform some of their work as a group twice a term, in addition to shows and services taking place for the Chaggim and Rosh Chodesh.

For Nursery, afternoon lessons finish at 3.00pm. Reception class finishes at 3.35pm, Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2) finish at 3.45pm and Key Stage 2 (Years 3 - 6) finish at 3.50pm.

If children are staying for an after school club, these start at 3.50pm on Monday to Thursday and usually finish by 4.45pm.
